Choosing a Lawyer? It's much like buying real estate or a car. Get the decision wrong and it can stay with you.

Human Rights Act

As legislation, the HRA is unique - at no point does it set out to deal with any specific mischief, or indeed address any discrete subject in the law. It therefore marks a change in the relationship between individual and state. Its enactment makes rights emanating out of the European Convention on Human Rights into a higher law.

HMSO - OPSI

The Government has now rebranded the old HMSO website under the Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI). OPSI has a remit to advise and regulate operation of the re-use of public sector information. HMSO continues to exist and fulfil its core activities including responsibility for the publication of legislation and the management of Crown copyright operating from within OPSI.
